New Orleans native Darylene Pugh is the General Manager of Shell's world-scale powder and catalyst manufacturing plant in Port Allen.

Over her 32-year career at Shell, Darylene has held local, regional, and global leadership positions within many parts of the organization, such as Technology, Manufacturing, Strategy, Joint Venture Management (for Shell’s former Deer Park Refinery) and in Global Projects. She has been a trailblazer for diversity in Shell having been the first African American Production Unit Manager at the Norco and Deer Park refineries.

Her STEM career in the energy sector began at Shell Oil Company in 1990 as a summer intern and continued full time at the Shell Norco refinery in 1991.

Darylene has been recognized in the Diversity in Action publication for her mentoring efforts in and outside Shell. Hundreds of employees have benefited from her mentorship during her 32-year career. 

Under her leadership, the Port Allen Plant has been recognized for its safety performance and business delivery with several Shell Executive Vice President Awards. The facility recently was approved for a large expansion project in West Baton Rouge Parish. 

She serves on the Board of Directors at the Greater Baton Rouge Industrial Alliance, where she chairs the joint Health and Safety Committee between GBRIA and the Alliance Safety Council. She serves on the Board of Directors at the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and the Baton Rouge Area Chamber.

Darylene has also has been recognized for her dedication to the San Jacinto Girl Scouts of America for her development of a multilevel girl scout troop and 10 years of service as a troop leader/manager.
