What business doesn’t want to save money and increase its “green” cachet at the same time? Syntergy LLC can help companies do both with no initial capital investment. The secret is a transparent business model that treats clients like partners.
Initially founded by LSU engineering graduate, Everett Pastureau, and UNO engineering graduate, Patrick Randall, in Austin, Texas, Syntergy entered the Baton Rouge market in 2003. Offering a unique approach to HVAC, building automation and facility management systems, the company creates energy savings and immediate cash flow.
In Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, Syntergy clients work with Dustin Rogers and Greg Rosenbalm. Childhood friends and college roommates, the pair started working for Pastureau, who is Rogers’ brother-in-law, during the summers while they were in college at UL Lafayette. After learning the ropes, the friends moved up in the company and are now responsible for the Louisiana and Alabama markets.
“We never wanted to leave this area and are committed to making the company successful here at home, ” says Rogers. At 29 years old, these fresh faces are serious about energy savings. “We’ll get you where you want to be as affordably as possible,” says Rogers. “If we don’t save you money, you don’t owe us anything. It’s a way for our value to always be seen.”
Syntergy’s first client in Baton Rouge was the Country Club of Louisiana. A detailed cost analysis of the project can be found at syntergyems.com, but Syntergy saved the Club more than $4,000 a month and $210,348 over the entire scope of the project.
In general, energy savings for clients range from 20%-40%. In south Louisiana, most of a business’s energy costs come from air conditioning, and Syntergy has the ability to reduce that cost without compromising on comfort.
Syntergy’s business model works because the company takes a percentage of energy savings from every project. This makes working with Syntergy affordable for clients on the front end and also incentivizes Rogers and Rosenbalm to maximize that savings reward.
“We’re a helping hand to partners as opposed to just another contractor,” says Rosenbalm. The company’s “partner” list includes The Dunham School, Amedisys, Capital City Press, Venyu and Gastroenterology Associates, proof that Syntergy is saving energy across Baton Rouge.
“We do everything we can to make that energy savings as large as possible,” says Rogers. “If we’re doing something that’s good for a client, then it’s also good for us.”
